More music is coming...

Been listening to lots of Damien Rice, Glen Hansard, and Marketa Irglova lately. If you don't know who they are, I highly suggested you make a completely uninformed purchase off of Amazon's MP3 store right now and get to listening -- I can't imagine you would regret it.

Been working on a lot of my own songs lately, too. It's slow coming (as it always is), but I should have some stuff to put up on my own myspace soon. The one song I've recently recorded can be found on youtube, and unfortunately that's the only was I can offer it, as I do not have an MP3 of my own.

I'm thinking about experimenting with the instrumentation I consider using, but I am pretty inept at playing anything besides guitar and saxophone. If anyone is feeling in the mood to get some folk music on, and you have the ability to work on it via the internets and old school mail, drop me an email at chufmoney@gmail.com. I'd love to start working on a super, super casual project with interested parties.

Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova, whether it's The Swell Season or Once, are fantastic.

You should check out Glen's band, The Frames. Their last album features several songs from Once/Swell Season, and is epic. I re-listened to the album before that recently too; Burn The Maps. I can listen to any song off that album again and again.

I don't know your musical interests (but if you like D. Rice these are not too far a stretch) However, if you want some absolutely amazing records that will give you some insight into and inspiration for varied instrumentation check out Neutral Milk Hotel's Aeroplane Over the Sea (also amazing songwriting there) and Beirut any album is good...

+1 for anything Neutral Milk Hotel

I have the new EP from Bon Iver. Not as intriguing as his LP, but the Auto-Tune song sounds beautiful.

I agree with PixelLive about Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova.

I just saw Once for the first time over the summer, and have been a huge fan ever since.

Hey, I used to run a music site on here--you can still find the link to it on my blogger profile, though the hosted server has long been taken down, it's last front page is still up--but for now I have a personal blog (which has been long neglected) to document my own music production. If you want to shoot the crap about music, you should drop me a message.

I could contribute to what you're doing, but my instruments are more in line with electronic and experimental music (I focus on rhythmic noise) than folk. I've also got guitars which I enjoy playing, though.
